As a natural expansion of his agency experience at Innovative Artists, Wheeler then worked alongside Lou Pitt (former ICM agent to Jim Cameron, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Gale Anne Hurd, Blake Edwards, Paul Anderson and Bruce Lee) as a manager from 2005 to 2013, where he represented film and television writers, producers and directors. In 2013 he launched Wheeler Management, a boutique IP rights and literary management company. In 2017 he co-founded Pathfinder Media, expanding into consulting, production, finance and consumer products.
Since establishing in 2017, Pathfinder has focused on representing and building globally diverse entertainment content for clients and partners in every medium. Pathfinder was the exclusive representative for The Robert E. Howard Library (Conan, Kull of Atlantis, Solomon Kane and more) which encompasses a $100M+ global entertainment business turnover and advised the investors on their exit, yielding 4x ROI over 4 years. In 2019 Pathfinder added entertainment finance advisory services to their practice and represented the deployment of Align Group’s $200M “greenlight” fund. Pathfinder has produced or set up for production the following series, BLOOD DRIVE for SyFy, CONAN THE BARBARIAN for Netflix, STATE ZERO for Viaplay, and is currently developing the remake of FAIL-SAFE with Participant. Pathfinder is also packaging a series of films, to be produced entirely in the Unreal game engine, based on the game entitled MUTANT YEAR ZERO for Tencent / Funcom.
